A program focused on the traditional mountain folk music indigenous to Western North Carolina. Individual lessons offered on fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo and dobro as well as group classes in beginning guitar and “how to jam.”

Appalachian Jamming Class (Youth and Adults welcome).

Kicking Off an All Ages Intermediate/Advanced Appalachian JAM!

Check out our new Traditional Jam Session! This will especially be for those who know at least 20 tunes and are interested in getting comfortable playing with other people, learning new tunes, playing as a group, taking a break, learning how to back up others, and do harmonies.We are happy to have Charley as a part of Joyful Noise. Charley has over 15 years of touring experience under his belt with the Greasy Beans and has shared the stage with greats such as Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, John Hartford and others.

Guest teacher, Charley Brophey will be hosting this jam session. We are happy to have Charley as a part of Joyful Noise. Youth Fiddle Jam, hosted by Paul Stroebel, for all experience and skill levels. Learn “Jam” etiquette, song form, and new tunes. Practice leading or kicking off tunes, how to accompany unfamiliar melodies, and how to play with others. Come and play those fiddle tunes you’ve picked up and learn new songs! Other instruments also welcome and encouraged to attend.
