String Ensemble is a large ensemble for all orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello and bass), with 4 sections, for different ages and levels. Young students learn music concepts through games. All students learn to perform with others and have multiple performance opportunities, including performance at LEAF (Lake Edens Arts Festival), and Bascom Lamar Lunsford Festival. The ensemble is directed by Dr. Gina Caldwell, with special clinics and workshops by other faculty, as well as community guest artists. The ensemble meets once a month and is open to all string students at Joyful Noise, as well as any string players in the community. All ages, including the youngest beginner, are welcome to attend. Cost per class is $7; for more information contact Dr. Caldwell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
