Chamber Music Instruction
Chamber music is the art of playing in a small ensemble of mixed instruments (duet, trio, quartet, etc.) with each player on their own unique, individual part. Playing chamber music is a wonderful way to hone all of your musical skills--rhythm, intonation, sight-reading, teamwork, and artistry--while meeting new friends and having a great time. We are looking for violinists, violists, and cellists of all ages and all levels from early intermediate to advanced to collaborate in a fun and challenging environment. We can place you in a group or accommodate a group you already have in mind.

Appalachian Jamming Class
This is an opportunity for anyone wishing to practice group dynamics on his/her instrument to join with a group of other willing folks under the tutelage of a long-time veteran of the scene. The material will be based in the old-time, bluegrass, and country traditions of our area, and vocal harmonies will be woven into the tapestry. Come equipped with one of your favorite songs or tunes, and be ready to lead the intro and call out the chords, and we’ll see where it goes from there. Attention will be focused on strong beginnings and endings, playing in time, being in tune, listening to the rest of the band, choosing tasteful backup, building a repertoire of classics, fine-tuning harmonies, and most of all, having fun! Bring your fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro, bass or voice and join in! Sessions will be held every Monday evening from 6-7pm. Cost is $10 per person.

Kindermusik
Kindermusik is a music and movement program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and big kids. You and your child will play, listen, and dance to musical activities specifically designed to stimulate early childhood development and strengthen neural pathways in your child's mind. For example in the Village class (newborn to 18 months) the babies will delight in our moving them to the steady beat. In the Our Time class (18 months to 3-1/2 years old) toddlers will play age appropriate instruments to a steady beat. In Imagine That! ( 3-1/2 to 4-1/2) the preschooler will revel in using their creative ideas to move to the beat. In Young Child (5-7 years old) the students will learn to read melodies and rhythms while playing the glockenspiel, lap dulcimer and recorder. Many parents find that their children improve school readiness skills with subsequent Kindermusik classes but above all you will all find the classes to be filled with FUN!
